When considering invisible braces as a teenager or adult, it is important to note the different options at your disposal. “Invisible braces” is a broad term given to many types of braces that are invisible or “hidden,” especially when compared to traditional metal braces. Here is a look at a few types of invisible braces:
Ceramic braces –
These are made with a porcelain like material that is a little more brittle than metal braces. They are a little larger than the metal brackets, but they are white or clear, which means they do not look nearly as obvious as having silver metal braces on your teeth.
Inside braces –
These braces are placed on the back of your teeth, which hides them from view. They are great for people who are in the public eye and might feel conscious about having metal or even clear braces on the front of their teeth. People know them as Incognito braces, sometimes referred as Harmony braces or simply lingual braces. We are now using the Suresmile technology for the lingual braces as well which allows us more precise finishing.
Clear aligners –
These clear, removable aligners are custom-made so that they fit your teeth. They are almost completely invisible, non-invasive and do not cloud even if you wear them for a few years. There are no wires or brackets, so these aligners are very comfortable to wear.
